Las Conchas Fire helicpoter flight

"See the fire through my eyes!" That is what the pilot of this heli and a Sky Crane said.



This was shot while the fire was only 80,000 acres. Today it is near 140,000 acres and while the flames are no longer a threat to Los Alamos, the smoke in town is still very bad.
Here are the latest specs.

Cause: Human
Size: 136,955 acres
Percent Contained: 40%
Total Personnel: 2,340 including 55 crews
Resources: 18 Helicopters; 83 Engines; 36 Water Tenders; 13 Dozers
Residences: 410 threatened; 63 destroyed
Commercial Property: 45 threatened; 0 destroyed
Outbuildings: 110 threatened; 32 destroyed
Injuries to Date: 5

As the pilot says in the video, lets all thank our firefighters for all their effort!
